FAKE GUN FOUND: Officers on GIVE patrol on 18th Street saw a young man walking with a gun-shaped object in his hoodie at about 4 p.m. Tuesday. Thaddeus Ector, 19, of North Forest Road in Getzville, took evasive action. Police intervened. Ector resisted. A struggle ensued. Ector was detained. The suspected weapon recovered was not real but was consistent with those used in crime. The suspect was charged with criminal possession of a weapon 4th, resisting arrest and jaywalking.

NO REGISTRATION: Police on patrol on Niagara Falls Boulevard observed an eastbound vehicle with an expired Ohio tag and executed a traffic stop at about 4 p.m. Tuesday. Charmeka Harris, 31, of 1865 Cleveland Ave. was arrested on charges of operating and unregistered vehicle and no insurance.

STOLEN BIKE: A young man wired his bike to a pole near 1315 Main St. at about 5 p.m. Tuesday and reported someone stole it 10 minutes later. It is valued at about $300.

NO INSURANCE: Police ran the plate on a vehicle parked on Highland Avenue and identified it had no insurance at about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday. Teffany Nance, 42, of Buffalo was charged with no insurance, driving with a single plate, a seatbelt violation, back passenger less than age 4 with not seatbelt and operating without an inspection.
