Mother's Day recap

Took a break from Short Take to work on Allstate business. I have been very busy with investment planning of late which will eventually be good for our personal finances.

We started the day with breakfast at the Marketside with Ben. You know it’s busy when every seat is full and Tony and Mike never come out of the kitchen to say hello.

Beth had blueberry pancakes. I went for the Sal with veggies and cheese. Ben had an omelet.

Mother’s Day included a trip around Stella Niagara with yellow warblers, goldfinches and an orchard oriole.

We also took a trip out to Stonehaven for flickers, a phoebe and great crested flycatcher as well as ticks. Everyone of us picked up at least one. Except Gord. He just ran, sniffed, explored, bounded through puddles and did the sort of joyous things only a poodle can.

We ended the day in Lewiston with Hibbard’s. That’s the thing, when the Hibbards are real people, just like the Poletti’s, or the Carey’s a Judas Tree, we feel like we are supporting real small business not some soulless national chain. It makes a big difference.
