On October 13th at approximately 9:30 am, Niagara Falls Police responded to the intersection of 19th St and Ferry Avenue to investigate a two vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
A 2012 Kia being driven by a 51 year old male was traveling east on Ferry Avenue when it collided with a northbound Honda that had passed the red light at 19th St. The Honda spun counter-clockwise and struck a 42 year old female who was standing on the northeast corner of the intersection. She was thrown from the impact and sustained numerous injuries.
She was transported to Erie Counter Medical Center where she is being treated for a broken toe and multiple facial fractures.
The driver of the Honda, a 72 year old man from Niagara Falls, was charged with reckless driving, failure to stop at a steady red light, imprudent speed and operating an uninspected vehicle.
