SHOPLIFTING: A Falls Street man was charged with trespassing and shoplifting at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Walmart. The previously trespassed subject was attempting to leave the store without paying for items valued at more than $700.
VISIT GONE WRONG: A Belden Place resident allowed a man she knew from the neighborhood into her home early Wednesday morning. Her guest had been drinking vodka and taking Klonopin. Her guest, who had recently been released from prison, began yelling at her about her husband, punched her in the face twice, and when she attempted to call police, through her phone across the room and choked her. He was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, 3rd degree assault, and criminal mischief/attempting to remove equipment to prevent a request for emergency assistance.
DAY DRINKIN’: At about 9:09 p.m. Thursday, police returned to 18th Street and South Avenue where a woman was standing in the street obstructing traffic and drinking Corona beer while yelling angrily at her neighbors. She had been asked to stop doing the same thing earlier in the day and this time, when she refused to do so, was taken into custody and charged with restricted use of alcohol and disorderly conduct/obstructing justice.
WARRANT AND RESISTING: Officers on patrol on Niagara Falls Boulevard near O’Reilly Auto Parts took a man who lives on 18th Street into custody on the warrant as well as an added charge of resisting arrest when, while being taken into custody, he tensed up and resisted. AMR was called to the scene because police suspected the suspect might be overdosing.
