DWI: Police on patrol on Niagara Falls Boulevard shortly after midnight Tuesday near 68th Street after observing a Toyota Corolla turn from 72nd Street with its lights off and when they turned on, police noticed the right taillight out. The driver said he had been at Wagon Wheel for a few hours and had a few drinks. He had glassy eyes, slurred speech and failed field sobriety tests. There was one passenger in the vehicle with the driver. Police took the driver into custody. He asked them to grab his phone and wallet from the car. He was charged with DWI and an equipment violation for the light. He also told police his wallet had been cleaned of cards and cash. His passenger, who left the scene, is the suspect.
AGGRESSIVE PANHANDLING: At 6:41 p.m. Tuesday, police took an aggressive panhandler into custody in the Tops parking lot on a charge of disorderly conduct. The suspect had been warned three times by police to cease the activity and failed to heed the warning.
