FORGED STICKER: Police on patrol in the 700 block of 82nd Street at about 9:30 a.m. Monday observed a vehicle with excessively tinted windows and executed a traffic stop. The drive, a Buffalo man, told police he had a “tint exemption” and gestured to a window sticker. Police immediately determined the sticker was fake. The suspect, taken into custody, said the sticker came from his doctor. The vehicle had no front license plate an obscured rear plate and matched the description of stolen vehicles out of Buffalo. The suspect was charged with an excessively tinted windshield and side windows, driving with a single license plate, driving with an obstructed/obscured plate and possession of a forged instrument.

WRONG PLACE TO BREAKDOWN: Police were on patrol near 5600 Niagara Falls Blvd. when they came upon a disabled 2005 Honda at about 1:52 p.m. Tuesday. The plates on the vehicle appeared false. The driver said he recently purchased the vehicle on Pine Avenue. The temporary plates came from a dealership in Queens. The driver, an 8th Street man, was charged with no inspection, no insurance and no registration.

ASSAULT: Police were called to a Niagara Avenue address at about 5:05 p.m. Monday for a report of an argument. A resident told police a visitor to her apartment became irate when she declined to share beer. He allegedly punched her on top of the head, pushed her onto a bed and choked her. She texted a downstairs neighbor who called police and came to the scene and took her assailant into custody on charges including 2nd degree harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing.
