DWI: At about 8 p.m. Monday, a driver on Buffalo Avenue observed a vehicle traveling erratically swerve onto 87th Street and collide with a parked car. The witness followed the vehicle as it fled the scene to a Frontier Avenue residence. He called police who responded to the scene and found the driver outside the car and heavily intoxicated. The suspect would not make eye contact with police and, told he was involved in a hit-and-run said “fuck you. I don’t have to give it to you.” The suspect continued to be uncooperative telling police “get off my property.” They forcibly took him into custody and transported him to police headquarters where he continued drunken, belligerent behavior and was incapable of field sobriety tests. He blew a .20% BAC. Charges include DWI BAC greater than .18%, resisting arrest, leaving the scene, DWI 1st, 3rd degree assault, obstructing and moving from a lane unsafely.
PETIT LARCENY: At 10:34 a.m. Monday, police were called to Portage Road Family Dollar where two women were arrested and charged with petit larceny for allegedly taking items valued at $45.67 without paying.
BIKE STOLEN: Police were called to the Community Mission on Portage Road for a report of a stolen e-bike. Police reviewed surveillance footage and observed someone cutting the lock and riding off at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
PETIT LARCENY: Police were called to Pine Avenue Dollar General early Wednesday morning after a clerk observed two males hiding items in pockets and leaving without paying.
TRESPASSING: At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the Coastal Station on 19th Street for a report of trespassing. An Orleans Avenue resident previously banned from the premises was observed standing in the doorway. He was charged with petit larceny.
