It was an idyllic Saturday again in Lewiston, if I can say that without being redundant.
It started with the Artisan Farmers Market in the morning. Corn, tomatoes, beans and lettuce are all prime. Peaches and apricots are starting as well.
We’ve had so many foraged mushrooms lately we don’t have to buy any. FJZ Bread has become a staple. Who needs Wegman’s when you can support a home-based bakery.
We hit some estate sales, catching up with Richie Pysz in LaSalle for a new French press and four funky ceramic bowls, $10 all in.
We were back at Academy Park in the evening for the Lewiston Council on the Arts reception in the pavilion preceding the Buffalo Philharmonic concert in the Alphonse Dimino bandshell.
No salubrious summer day could be complete without ice cream from Hibbard’s.
If you are down for it tonight, the Lew Custode Art Deco Quartet is at the Gazebo at the other end of Center Street tonight, another fine event sponsored by the Council on the Arts.
Cloudy , with a high of 92 and low of 66 degrees. Overcast for the morning, sunny in the afternoon, fog overnight.
