WHY RUN: Police on patrol on Pine Avenue observed a Chevy Equinox driving westbound in the 1500 block with a bad taillight at 4:07 a.m. Tuesday. As they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle took off and led a short pursuit to a Linwood Avenue slowed to an almost stop. Two men hopped out and ran to a home but the door was locked. They took off running. One was caught. The Ontario Avenue resident was charged with obstructing and resisting arrest.
ATTEMPTED VEHICLE THEFT: A Buffalo Avenue resident reported Sunday night overnight someone entered their unlocked vehicle and damaged the steering column.
ILLEGAL VEHICLE: Police on patrol at 1:14 p.m. Tuesday when a plate reader alerted to no insurance. The driver had a foreign sounding name and spoke no English so police contacted Border Patrol to verify citizenship. Border Patrol officers translated. The driver, of Wohlers Avenue, Buffalo was charged with failure to deliver license/registration; driving with a suspended license/registration, aggravated unlicensed operation and equipment violation, broken glass.
