I was home Monday morning when the unexpected roar of a fighter jet rumbled through the gorge and over our home.
I went outside and looked up but didn’t see anything.
As always, I turned to RobShots on Facebook and he brought the answer, not because he witnessed it but because someone captured video and posted it to his page.
It was a US Air Force F35A Lightning II which had been in New York for the Geneseo Airshow.
It’s another example of why Niagara Falls is a great place to live: We don’t see a lot of commercial aircraft but every military pilot with a bit of discretion includes the Falls on a flight plan because it is likely a bucket list item for anyone who gets to fly the $82.5 million aircraft.
