I was home Monday morning when the unexpected roar of a fighter jet rumbled through the gorge and over our home.
I went outside and looked up but didn’t see anything.
As always, I turned to RobShots on Facebook and he brought the answer, not because he witnessed it but because someone captured video and posted it to his page.
It was a US Air Force F35A Lightning II which had been in New York for the Geneseo Airshow.
It’s another example of why Niagara Falls is a great place to live: We don’t see a lot of commercial aircraft but every military pilot with a bit of discretion includes the Falls on a flight plan because it is likely a bucket list item for anyone who gets to fly the $82.5 million aircraft.
That’s another great thing about living in Niagara Falls: Rob Bennett chasing airplanes and police cars and fire trucks and sharing what he catches for all to see. You can find his work online as Robshots.
I know how he felt. No one cares about crooked DA's
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 77 and low of 52 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Sunny in the morning, clear for the afternoon and evening, patchy rain nearby overnight.
Art(?) in front of the Why restaurant is absolutely the ugliest thing we have seen! It took a whole week to do it also costing my cousin who owns the Why a lot of business plus the money lost. With all the nice art on Main why do that? Just a bunch of ugly cups and nothing else that looks like anything!
Plus those white poles look like a hazard waiting to happen. Most likely will not last through the winter.
