The draft agenda is out for next Wednesday’s City council meeting.
Acting Corporation Counsel Tom DeBoy sent it at 3:49 a.m. Saturday. I hope he wasn't in the office. He deserves the title "interim" removed and a raise.
Highlights include:
- The Pothole Killer comes back but with no overtime attached. It is better than nothing but not as good as authorizing overtime and fixing twice as much. Leadership is sometimes having to do hard things, whether that means show up at the darn meeting and speak to the council, as the mayor has failed to do or call the guy you can’t stand on the phone and ask questions, as Donta Myles has failed to do. Mistakes have been made. Blame will be assigned.
- An amendment to the agreement with Casella’s Waste Management. What it is won’t be revealed until the supporting documentation comes out Monday or Tuesday.
- A resolution creating a “Climate Smart Community Task Force” and appointing a “Climate Smart Coordinator.”
As for supporting documentation, it is hidden on the city Website but when it hits my inbox I will post it at the Express.
