United Way honors champions

North Tonawanda, NY – United Way of Greater Niagara held its annual Awards Breakfast this morning (Friday, April 11, 2025) at Wurlitzer Events, honoring local individuals, organizations, and businesses that have made a significant impact on the community through their generosity, leadership, and service.

The event brought together almost 200 community members, partners, and supporters for a morning of recognition and reflection on the power of giving back.

“This breakfast is our way of saying thank you,” said Andrea Gray, President & CEO of United Way of Greater Niagara. “Our honorees exemplify what it means to live united and uplift the community. Their commitment fuels the work we do every day.”

The morning’s program included presentations to this year’s award recipients (listed below), who were recognized for outstanding contributions in volunteerism, corporate partnership, youth engagement, and leadership.

  • Niagara Orleans Labor Council’s Russell Quarantello Community Services Award: Trevor Ganshaw
  • Joseph C. Weber III “Think Positive…Think United Way” Award: Nicole Printup
  • Norman Sinclair Humanitarian Award: Michael Radecke
  • President’s Award: Connie Brown
  • Caring Cup Award: Kenan Center
  • Inclusivity Award: David Taylor, Ph. D
  • Shining Star Award: Niagara Wheatfield’s Family Support Center
  • Youth Advocacy Award: Starpoint Middle School National Junior Honor Society
