Police were called to investigate a burglar alarm at the Turtle, 25 Rainbow Blvd. at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Two males in dark clothing were walking away from the building and were stopped for questioning.

The suspects were handcuffed and placed in the back of separate patrol cars. Keyholders responded and noted the north door of the building, where the alarm sounded, was unlocked. There was no new damage to the building.

Security cameras captured two men walking around the building.

One of the two men, Vincent Gianelli said to police “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I didn’t do any graffiti. I was told they were going to demolish the building and was sent here by The Buffalo Preservation to walk in and record the inside of the building so I did.”

Gianelli, of Buffalo, and Michael Klepp of North Tonawanda were charged with 3rd degree burglary, illegal entry with intent to commit a crime and possession of burglar tools.

A folding knife confiscated from a suspect may have been used to open the door.

A spokesperson for Preservation Buffalo Niagara said they had no knowlege of what the men were doing.
