Niagara Falls Police Blotter

(Editor's note: Police blotter returns today. The NFPD transitioned to a new report system but should be more consistent again with reporters.)

DUI DRUGS: At about 12:24 p.m. Tuesday police were called to 77th Street and Niagara Falls Boulevard for a vehicle blocking traffic. They banged on the window and awakened a Hamburg woman who was asleep at the wheel. She told officers she was tired but was headed to pick up her husband from work. She appeared disoriented and was ordered from the car and failed field sobriety tests. The suspect was missing several teeth and bleeding from a self-inflicted scratch wound on her arm. There were needles in the car. She told police she smoked crack last night and was on suboxone. She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, DUI drugs and standing/stopping in a driving lane.

SHOPLIFTER: A Williamsville man was charged with petit larceny at about 8:30 a.m. Monday after he allegedly attempted to take a sweater valued at $23 without paying for it at Wegmans.

SHOPLIFTERS: Two Canadian women were charged with shoplifting at about 6:04 p.m. Sunday at Target for allegedly attempting to take merchandise valued at $34 without paying.

MENACING: Police were called to a Krull Parkway address at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday March 6 for a report of menacing. A man was trying to breakdown a neighbor’s door. She called 911 and was told to take shelter. Police entered the dwelling, took the suspect into custody, and charged him with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. “I’m going to ruin your night,” the suspect is quotes as telling police in the report. “I’m having a stroke. No wait I am having a heart attack.” The suspect was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
