BUFFALO, NY - Grassroots Gardens WNY is asking for volunteer support at two community gardens in February.
On Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., volunteers are needed to assist with fruit tree pruning and bed rebuild preparations at Walnut Avenue Kitchen Garden, located at 909 Walnut Ave, Niagara Falls, NY. No prior experience is needed and all are welcome. Tools will be provided for use.
On Friday, February 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., volunteers are needed to help build a trellis and prune blackberry bushes at Garden in the Sun, located at 382 Fargo Avenue, Buffalo, NY. Materials and tools will be on site. No experience is needed - Grassroots Gardens WNY staff will help teach the process as we work.
For both volunteer days, participants are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toed shoes. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
