Thoughts on staying on key
So if you know me, you know I am noisy. I wake up with an earbug. I whistle, sing and share whatever comes into my head more than some people like.
I talk to strangers, tell stories and generally cavort like a Newfoundlander since times before I visited Newfoundland.
Hey, I may be an acquired taste and some people don’t get me.
That said, I have a good ear. John Denver? Piece of cake. Ditto anything Paul McCartney ever wrote. I can sing it.
On the other hand, I can’t explain why, but Elton John is a nightmare. It is nearly impossible to stay on key.
The reason for this rant is I can embrace “You’ve got a friend” or “It’s too late”. I still can’t figure out how to stay on key for “Beautiful” or “I’m still standing.”
I get up in the morning with a smile on my face and I may wear the love in my heart on my sleeve, but I will always be closer to “Country Roads” than “Beautiful.”
