Beautification Commission cleans up downtown

The Niagara Beautification Commission members and volunteers gathered Sunday morning to collect trash and clean up leaves on Cleveland Avenue near the First Congregational Church, filling about 10 large bags with trash from around the street.

A couple volunteers even swung onto Main Street and cleaned up there.

In fact, the Air Force was so excited by the effort it sent a C-5M Supergalaxy to do a flyover. The craft, designed to transport personnel and equipment, is the largest currently in use in the United States.

OK, OK, the aircraft was in town for the Bills game but getting to see cool aircraft fly over all the time is a definite improvement over seeing Buffalo Airport commercial traffic.
