Daryl Tonemah grew up listening to the Eagles on the Standing Rock reservation on KFYR from Bismarck.
A lifetime has passed since then but the music stuck in his head, and heart.
Last night, he brought it home to the Lewiston Opera Hall for a packed house of appreciative music lovers.
Tonemah, an accomplished singer songwriter and psychologist, brought together Dave Thurman, Scott Celani, LP Tonemah and Ray and Sue Berry for the acoustic show.
I remember Berry as an all-time Colts great but man can he slay it on the guitar. His chord changes seem effortless. There's something about the way super-talented guitarists make it look effortless.
Thurman is awesome as well, hitting with a confident falsetto on “I can’t tell you why.”
Celani leads Tequila Sunrise, an Eagles tribute. He also has great knowledge of the ups and downs of the Eagles.
It was interesting to see the cover is now $10 no matter what band you see, with the possible exception of the Wagon Wheel where I don’t remember ever paying a cover.
I am not complaining because musicians, just like servers (and tour guides) work hard for every penny they get but thanks a lot, Brandon.
The opera hall is a great place for a show. We need more such gatherings.
Focus, Joe. This is about Hyde Park Ice Pavilion, nothing else. We have been making up the difference of $1.4 M since 2013.
Funny thing, I’d bet about 90% of the children do not live in the city of NF that are playing hockey there
Not so sure about 90%, but those tournaments which target the out of towners spend a pretty penny when they're here between lodging and meals during the off season. Hockey is arguably the most expensive sport to play and the parents of kids on these travel teams are generally pretty well off.
