POOL WAS CLOSED: Officers were called to Centre Avenue for a report of youths swimming in theCentre Court pool at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday. Four males, upon seeing a police car, scattered. Officers gave chase. Four suspects were captured following various pursuits. George Moyer, 18, of 765 85th Street was captured on a charge of trespassing. Names and charges against three other suspects were blacked out on the police report.
ARSON: Police were called to the 400 block of 20th Street at about 10:35 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a grass fire. Mario Luna, 43, of 479 20th St. was charged with arson and reckless endangerment for allegedly lighting the field by his home afire.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Police were called to Pine Avenue near McDonalds where Virgil Harris, 61, of 1110 19th St. was observed intentionally obstructing traffic at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
DWI: Officers were summoned to 6802 Buffalo Ave. at about 1:05 a.m. Thursday for a report of a crash. They found Michael Karnatz, 27, of 402 95th St. in a vehicle there with a dislodged wheelcover nearby. He apparently struck the curb. Karnatz pleaded with an officer to not be a “dick” and insisted the cop had hassled him a few nights earlier on “Brokehaven Drive” in Wheatfield. The officer wrote in the report he had never before met Karnatz. The suspect was charged with DWI, alcohohol/cannabis in a motor vehicle and aggravated DWI.
