An article in Friday’s Buffalo News reported on the sale of the Globe Metallurgical industrial wasteland to a convicted felon Mike Bagley, an Alexandria, Va. man who purchased the property for $3 million and is planning an artificial intelligence and logistics center on the site.
Globe shut down in 2018 putting about 100 people out of work and sold the property to Jerome P. Williams for $1.5 million in 2021.
The Buffalo News story said Bagley told them most of the industrial structure has been cleared from the site. Numerous rusty, open, falling down ruins remain.
Bagley told the News nothing about funding for the $100 million project but claimed it will employ 500 people over two years of construction and 200 people going forward. It is zoned appropriately.
The property is, at best, unkempt and neglected. At the Highland Avenue entrance, a sign touts cleanup of the 3807 Highland Ave. property under the administration of Gov. Gov. David Paterson and Mayor Paul Dyster. Paterson left office in 2010 which may mean the cleanup preceded closure of Globe.
Here is a link to Janet Gramza’s story. I hope it isn’t caught behind a paywall.

Very nicely done
"Rules for thee but not for me".....all one has to do is read the city charter to see how this administration has no respect for it. How can a person be an employee, as defined by NY department of labor, but not be considered as an employee by this administration?
I am surprised but can attest that some holes were patched already. Can we celebrate small accomplishments on this page?
