Water Board issue resolved
Sometimes my old friend Rick Pfeiffer still gets me.
Michael Askla relented and resigned from the Niagara Falls Water Board giving up the fight and letting James Dean have the voluntary post.
Asklar who was listed as treasurer, finance and audit committee chair. His removal was the focus of the US Steelworkers Union which represents the workers at the Water Board and is in the midst of contract negotiations.
Dean’s appointment, together with that or Rick Sirrianni and holdover Renae Kimble, gives the union 3 voices. The end result may be a cushy new contract and rate increases for homeowners. Sirriani was chosen by Gov. Kathy Hochul to replace Gretchen Leffler.
