USA Niagara updates on development

Sometimes it seems like nothing is happening in the tourist district because things take a long time.

Anthony Vilardo, president of USA/Niagara Development recently spoke to the Express and offered a few brief updates.

Restoration of the historic belltower at First Presbyterian Church where asbestos removal is underway. 

The demolition of the former TeleTech building wrapping around the church is moving slowly and mostly by hand.

One challenge as well is the electric utility line for the church did not come from a pole but from a line underneath TeleTech.

Meanwhile, Vilardo said progress on the restoration of Hotel Niagara is moving forward despite current litigation. Construction may move forward as soon as fall.

Bids for the Heritage Gateway by the Aquarium were opened earlier this week.
