Special meeting canceled
For the 2nd time in a month, an agenda item set to come before the Niagara Falls Council has been pulled.
This time, it resulted in the cancellation of a special meeting scheduled for this evening.
The agenda included passage of an amendment to the police contract that changed overtime rules, increased wages across the board to help recruiting and allow the city to hire parking enforcement personnel.
For years, the only people in the Falls who receive parking tickets are those who park on the wrong side of the street overnight.
Parking in the downtown tourism ticket is by meter but there is zero enforcement.
