BURGLARY: A business in the 1100 block of Whitney Avenue was burglarized last Thursday. $40 in change was taken but the criminal did $1,000 in damage to a block wall.
BURGLARY: A smoke shop in the 1300 block of Pine Avenue was burglarized sometime early last Friday. $500 in cash and cigarettes valued at $980 were taken.
BURGLARY: A Main Street laundromat reported someone broke into a gaming console and stole $50 in quarters doing $200 in damage sometime early last Friday morning.
PARKING DISPUTE: A woman reported someone keyed her car at a 95th Street address where she has had an ongoing dispute over a parking spot.
INVESTIGATION: A resident came in to police headquarters to report a bank account had been opened in her name without permission. The bank asked her to file a report.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Police responded to an Ashland Avenue address for a report of a domestic dispute at 12:38 a.m. Sunday. Ryan brehmer, 50, of 824 Ashland Ave. was irate, ranting and bleeding heavily from his arm. He was told numerous times to calm down and was charged with disorderly conduct.
DWI: Police were observed a vehicle with dark tinted windows at 7/11 on Niagara Street at about 6 p.m. Sunday. As police pulled into the lot, the vehicle backed out of its spot and proceeded down the adjacent alley in reverse at high speed near where children were playing where it crashed. Police identified the driver as Lewis Tezak, 57, of 2233 Welch Ave. who said ‘he had 4 beers” and had “gone in the store to get a couple more.” Tezak was charged with DWI, speeding, unsafe backing, and reckless driving.
GUN: Officers responded to a report of a man with a gun at about 10 p.m. Sunday on 18th Street and saw 3 people walking. One of the males dropped his jacket and was suspected of possessing a gun. Maleek Powers, 25, of 1842 Cleveland Avenue was arrested on a charge of 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon.
