Chautauqua grapes frosted

I don’t think it hit Niagara County but Channel 7 is reporting some vineyards in Chautauqua were hit by a frost Monday and lost as much as 85 to 90% of their grape crop.

It must be hard relying on the weather to control the fate of your farm. Niagara County appears to have escaped.

On another positive note, Bob Confer tweeted this morning it appears to be a banner year for cherries.

Now where are those strawberries? They should be along any day.

And the apricots and peaches say “please no hail.”
