Lewiston Market opens

We visited the Lewiston Artisan Farmers Market Saturday. It is on the other side of the park and has roughly doubled in size.

There are way more crafters than any other weekly community market.

The usual suspects were there with eggs and meat as well as some early spring greens and lettuce.

Interestingly, there were no garlic scapes for sale. It’s OK. We have an ample supply. I looked for 6-packs of basil but there were none.

Last week I traveled to Boston, south of OP for work to see a client and stopped again at Lindstrom’s Greenhouse.

I grabbed two more baskets and a couple flats of flowers and veggies. Ken Lindstrom is proud of his work.

I also asked about Christmas Trees. He proudly boasted.

“I grow the best Christmas trees in New York State,” he said. “I had a couple I could have one blue ribbons for at the State Fair but that’s not what they are grown for. They are grown to be Christmas trees.”

I will do business with someone like Lindstrom, About Thyme, Wagners or Seaberts 10 out of 10 times before stepping into Walmart or Home Depot.
