LARCENY: An Ontario Avenue resident reported the theft of plates off a car. They were taken some time Monday or Tuesday.

CUSTOMER DISPUTE: Police were called to Best Nails on Niagara Falls Boulevard for a customer dispute at about noon Wednesday. Sharae Smith, 31, of 410 74th St. alleged she was attempting to make an ATM withdrawal when the owner unplugged it. She wanted her money and refused to leave. Police charged her with criminal trespass.

ASSAULT: A dispute over the proper way to lock up a bike near Dollar General on Pine Avenue ended when a man was hit over the head with a lock shortly after noon, Wednesday. The victim was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial for treatment of a head injury.

EXPLOSION: Police responded to 820 20th St. at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday after a home exploded. A resident told police a plumber had worked on the home earlier in the day and turned the gas on. The resident, in the process of moving in, thought the strong smell of gas was normal and opened several windows. He returned to his former residence to gather more belongings when the 20th Street structure exploded.

TOWED: An abandoned vehicle was towed from 22nd Street early Wednesday evening.

SUSPENDED REGISTRATION: An officer patrolling on Cleveland Avenue reported his plate reader scanned a car as unregistered. Jabril Olds, 31, of 1629 Michigan Ave. was charged with driving with a suspended registration, no insurance and aggravated unlicensed operation.

NO GUN FOUND: Police were called to the 400 block of 23rd Street for a report of a man with a gun at about 3:42 p.m. Thursday. Two males had been reported fighting when someone brandished a gun. Police detained and searched 7 people and searched the surrounding area. No weapon was located.
