About voting and ID

I went to the train station to vote last week in the Republican Presidential Primary. Three choice on the ballot, Donald Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley. About 15 years ago, I changed my signature to a scrawl.

The Erie County voting record has my old cursive signature. It transferred to Niagara with my party affiliation.

I went to vote at the train station. I signed with the scrawl. The poll attendant rejected my signature and asked me to sign again.

I did it the old way. He let me vote. Usually when I have voted at Maple Avenue School, the people in charge recognize everyone. Ditto where we lived in Clarence.

When the far right rants about voter ID laws and election fraud, it is sound and fury signifying nothing. At least in New York, our laws work fine.
