With all the hype about the eclipse, State Parks is ready.
I still have some concerns.
Parking lots will fill early on Goat Island and by the Rainbow Bridge.
Traffic will be gridlocked. There is still no proper traffic control around the park. Peak tourist season will be a nightmare again.
The museum part of the new visitor’s center remains closed, supposedly trapped in a contract dispute.
My biggest fear is someone using the eclipse/spectacle as a chance for a stunt or suicide or even worse, a terrorist attack.
I plan to be on the observation platform by the Maid of the Mist which is shut off for media because being trapped on Goat Island scares me.
