Trails galore but few open

Skipped the Makers Market. We went the last couple years and it was OK but a Saturday walk beckoned. Only it didn’t happen.

We drove to Joseph Davis State Park. Closed for the season. We drove to Four Mile Creek State Park. Closed for the season. We doubled back to Lewiston.

The Artpark upper lot was closed because of the new path installation. We doubled back to the lower lot, which was closed as well.

Shopped some on Center Street but didn’t buy anything before heading home.

We decided to walk again Sunday morning. This time, it was promising . . . but despite Devil’s Hole stairs being open the trail south back to Whirlpool stairs was shut by a rock slide.

We turned around and headed north back toward the power plant. The gorge is filled with gulls.

We walked back to the top. As November days go, it was chilly but dry.

A beautiful thing about living in Niagara Falls is even when four different parks with cool trails are closed, we can still just take a walk in the neighborhood.
