Here’s a detail from a friend I trust who has spent his life in the auto industry. I asked about the Bentley crash at the Rainbow Bridge. His response:
“Quick research explains the right hand drive recall, yes possible consider something getting in the way of the pedal. All modern cars are drive-by-wire, so no linkage between pedal and engine.
“Yes, most modern autos have the ability to record data, speed,steering and braking at time of accident. That car blew apart and burned so odds of the computer being good is doubtful.
“The media totally messed up on their first reporting. They should have backed it down until more info came out. Now every nut is saying the government is covering up an attack.
“Logically if someone wanted to blow up a car bomb why at the toll? Wouldn't the bridge cause more problems? My guess is freak accident, suicide or God said it's your time.We will probably never know. I choose to not dwell, I feel badly for the family.”
A more sober take I don’t think we will find.
From the looks of the flight of the car,it went to the customs side of the booths and not the tolls. As for the stuck pedal,Still has to be mechanical when pressing down on it. I doubt it was stuck or something jammed it down.
