STOLEN VEHICLE: A 2020 Kia was stolen from the 500 block of 23rd Street on the Thursday/Friday overnight.
MENACING: Police were called to Pine Avenue Family Dollar at about 12:35 p.m. Friday for a report a clerk had been threatened with a gun. They apprehended Shaqor Toney, 31, of Packard Court a short distance away and charged him with 2nd degree menacing with a weapon.
ILLEGAL VEHICLE: At about 8:40 p.m. Friday, police observed a vehicle with no headlight on Buffalo Avenue and executed a traffic stop. Jamar Nichols, no age or address available, told police he just bought the vehicle. He was charged with no insurance, no registration, aggravated unlicensed operation and an equipment violation.
EGGED: A Lindbergh Avenue resident reported last Thursday someone shattered his apartment window with an egg. It’s been a consistent problem all summer.
BAR OWNER HARASSED: A Third Street bar owner flagged down police at about midnight Saturday to report she attempted to stop a patron leaving the establishment with drink and glassware. The customer threw a glass at her and fled the scene.
DWI: Saturday night at about 2:30 a.m. police were called to Highland Avenue and Hyde Park Boulevard for a report of a vehicle crash. A Nissan Rogue had rolled over. Douglas D. Ellison, 39, 2119 Main St. Niagara Falls was inside the upended vehicle. Multiple electrical poles were damaged. Ellison failed field sobriety tests and refused a breath test. Ellison had multiple suspensions as well as prior convictions and was charged with felony DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation, aggravated unlicensed operation alcohol, driving without a license, failure to stop at a stopsign and speed excessive for conditions. He was not an authorized driver of the Hertz rental car.
SHOPLIFTER:Police were called to Portage Road Family Dollar for a report of a shoplifter. Wade Narehood, 33, of 2002 Grand Ave. was apprehended nearby and charged with petit larceny.
SUSPENDED REGISTRATION: Police on patrol on Niagara Falls Boulevard reported a plate reader alerted to a suspended registration at about 5:40 p.m. Saturday. Stephanie Scrivano, 42, of Grand Island was charged with no insurance, driving with a suspended registration and aggravated unlicensed operation.
STRUCTURE FIRE: At about 5:10 p.m. Saturday police were called to the scene of a structure fire on Cudabeck Avenue. Squatters had apparently been living in the vacant house.
DWI: At about midnight Sunday on Cleveland Avenue officers on DWI patrol executed a stop on a vehicle being operated by Vondria Haynes, 43, of Niagara Avenue and charged her with driving without a license, driving with ability impaired by drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation. She failed field sobriety tests, tested negative for blood alcohol and was charged with DUI drugs.
CHANGE TAKEN: A guest at the Quality Inn on First Street at about 10 p.m. Saturday was alerted by police that someone had smashed the window on his truck. About $15 in Canadian coin was missing.
GO KART STOLEN: A resident of 16th Street reported someone stole his go kart from the backyard at about 1 a.m. Sunday.
ABANDONED VEHICLE: An abandoned vehicle with no current insurance was towed from near 1920 Buffalo Ave.
SHOPLIFTER: Lisa Sozio, 53, of 1352 Ontario Ave. was charged with petit larceny after allegedly taking items from Tops without paying at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
UNWANTED VISITOR: A 15th Street resident reported she has repeatedly been visited by an unknown male who knocks on her door and rings the bell. Police made a note and will do frequent premise checks.
STOLEN KIA: Sunday between 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. someone stole a Kia Sportage from an address in the 500 block of 20th Street.
STOLEN KIA: In the Thursday/Friday overnight, someone stole a Kia Sportage from an address in the 500 block of 29th Street.
