Two shootings Sunday are being investigated by Niagara Falls Police.

The first occurred in the 400 block of 19th Street Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to the scene around 2 p.m for reports of shots fired with someone possibly shot. Upon arriving on scene, officers located a male with a gunshot wound to the leg sitting on the curb. Niagara Falls Fire and AMR responded to the scene for the injured male, who was ultimately transported to ECMC for treatment.

Bystanders reported hearing only one shot. A blood trail led to the backyard behind 417 19th St. where detectives recovered a single bullet casing.

The second shooting resulted in serious injury to a male in his 20s who was shot on Walnut Avenue Sunday night.

At around 9:10 p.m., emergency crews responded to the 500 block of 20th Street for reports of a male shot multiple times, including in the neck and leg. The male was transported to ECMC by ambulance in critical condition.

Police were advised that the shooting occurred in the area of 19th street and Walnut Avenue. Officers responded to that location and initially located a bullet casing in the roadway in front of 1917 Walnut Avenue. As officers continued to search the area for evidence, two additional casing were located across the street near the south east corner of the Coastal Gas Station parking lot.

The shooting is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Niagara Falls Criminal Investigation Detectives at 716-286-4553 or at the general information line at 716-286-4711.
