Following up on Tops

Followed up on the Tops forum from Thursday with action.

Sent this message via the Tops web page including my name, address and phone.

“I shop in your ghetto store out of necessity and attended a meeting last night about the deplorable conditions therein. Worn and dated fixtures, poor lighting, cockroaches, understocked shelves, staff smoking pot around the corner while on break.

“Someone even saw a mouse run under one of the checkout counters. Even worse was that the meeting organizer had contacted your office and received no response. We deserve better.”

Later in the day I received a response:

“Dear Joseph Genco,

“Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We truly apologize for your recent experiences you've had at one of our store locations as this is not our standard. We would like to have a member of our team reach out to you regarding this. Can you please provide me with the store location you shop at?

“Again, thank you for contacting us. Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Yolanda

Consumer Affairs Representative

Tops Markets, LLC.”

I specifically called it the Ghetto Tops and listed my real name and home address to see if the Tops person who responded would ask that question.

I know a meeting with a Tops executive and community members has been scheduled. I will keep readers posted if they follow up with me. Hopefully Sharon Bailey will write in the Gazette and we will all be able to read it when Lori Jo Pellow share it.
