VANDALISM: Police responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Willow Ave. for a car window broken with a liquor bottle at about 11 p.m. Monday.

MENACING INTERRUPTED: Police on patrol in the 700 block of 8th Street reported witnessing a man park a black SUV with a handgun and chase another man at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The officer observed the incident and approached Diron Brown, 35, of 1132 Fairfield Ave. taking him into custody at gunpoint. Other officers arrived on the scene and held the suspect while officer James Tucci searched for a handgun and located a loaded Smith & Wesson .38 with 5 in the clip, one in the chamber and a defaced serial number stashed under a vehicle. The alleged victim arrived on the scene and said he’d been pumping gas when approached by a tall black man who said “you robbed my house” and tugged at his waistband. “I started walking back to my girl’s house when this same male in his SUV came whipping around the corner . . . jumped out of the SUV and pointed a black gun at me.” Brown was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Mitchell Carter, 33, of 529 22nd St. was charged with criminal mischief after smashing the glass barrier in the booking area of police headquarters at about 1:45 Tuesday.

ILLEGAL VEHICLE: Officers on patrol on Buffalo Avenue observed a vehicle with switched plates and executed a traffic stop at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday. James Coon, 51, of 804 17th St. was charged with unregistered, improper plate, aggravated unlicensed operation, no inspection and no inspection certificate.

STOLEN PURSE: A resident of the 100 block of 59th Street reported someone stole her purse with credit cards and ID from her unlocked vehicle.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Mitchell Carter 33, of 529 22nd St. Apt. 1 was charged with criminal mischief for slamming into, and bending elevator doors at police headquarters at about 2:25 p.m. Tuesday.

WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD: A Willow Avenue resident who moved in 2 days ago reported someone broke into his garage and took a television and lawn care equipment sometime Tuesday while he was at work.
