Petit larceny: A downtown hospitality worker reported sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday someone rummaged through her vehicle, tore up the console and took a couple car keys. She didn’t know if it was locked.
Petit Larceny: A suspect entered the Hyde Park 7/11 and attempted to purchase an assortment of beef jerky and candy. His card was declined multiple times. He grabbed what he could and left without paying at about 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Grand Larceny: A landlord in the 700 block of Pierce Avenue reported the theft of a toilet, hot water tank, outlets and light fixtures from a property under renovation. The crime was reported about 10 a.m. Wednesday. There was no forced entry. He had paid a contractor $10,000 to do work. The contractor requested another $2,000 which he declined to pay. The theft may be related. The investigation is continuing.
Grand Larceny: A resident of the 400 block of 18th Street reported someone entered his garage and stole a snowblower and ramps sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. Tuesday.
