Niagara Falls Police Blotter

FRIDAY NIGHT DICE: At about 6:30 p.m. Friday, police converged on 627 19th St., a city-owned lot, and arrested 2 Niagara Falls men and one from Buffalo and charged them with loitering in a public place/gambling. The suspects had been observed throwing dice and exchanging money and were requested to disperse from the scene. Police flew a drone overhead, observed the activity continuing, and intervened. The suspects were known to police for previous arrests involving drugs, guns and violence.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Police responded to 8403 Buffalo Avenue for a report of loud music at about 9:05 p.m. Friday. The suspect refused to comply with a request to turn down the music. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

DWI: Police on patrol near 19th and Niagara Streets at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday when they observed a car driving erratically southbound on 19th at a high rate of speed, swerving pass traffic and overcorrecting. After executing a traffic stop police spoke to the driver, a Rochester woman who could only produce an expired image of an ID on her phone. The four other females in the vehicle were unable to produce ID. The driver miserably failed field sobriety tests miserably. A sober friend showed up and drove the passengers to a residence. The suspect was taken to police headquarters where she was charged with failure to notify of an address change, failure to use a designated lane, failure to keep right, aggravated DWI driving with .18% or more blood alcohol, reckless driving, failure to use the designated lane and no license.

SHOPLIFTING: An officer moonlighting at Walmart at 8:45 a.m. Sunday arrested and charged a 75th Street, Niagara Falls resident with petit larceny after allegedly taking an orchid valued at $17.22.
