We still only have about 6 inches of snow but it is coming down. Still, it’s going to be about a foot when all is done.
I probably will need to shovel and maybe even use the snowblower. Our shovel is in it's 35th year. It came from ABC Hardware on Bailey when Beth was in grad school. The flange is wiggly and the wear edge is worn out but it still gets it done. Neither Warren's nor Home Depot has a replacement that meets my standards.
I used to work at Sheridan and Transit. Looking south from atop the escarpment it was a great place to see the wall of lake effect snow.
I think it was Steinbeck in “Travels with Charley” who talked about loving weather, not climate.
A quick search revealed what he said.
“I've lived in good climate, and it bores the hell out of me. I like weather rather than climate.”
LoL
I’d rather be bored!
Thanks for covering this event. Maybe next time I will send you a drone picture of all 200 of us, and you can then post that.
Heavy rain, with a high of 61 and low of 55 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Patchy rain nearby during the morning, thundery outbreaks in nearby during the afternoon, overcast in the evening, partly cloudy overnight.
Does anyone know the proper process in Niagara Falls, NY for getting bulk trash or debris removed from a private yard? I’m trying to figure out who handles it and what steps residents are supposed to follow.
I would say organize a group of people to address the property you are concerned about and bring it to the curb on May 9, the annual Niagara Beautification Commission cleanup. Casella will pick it up.
