Circus tonight at City Hall

The Niagara Falls Common Circus meets tonight at 6 p.m. with several exciting agenda items, as predicted by the Express including:

1. Acting City Counsel Tom DeBoy and Councilperson Vincent Cauley bickering over minute minutiae.
2. Cauley attempting to postpone at least 3 items because he doesn’t have enough information but he does have the support of Councilperson Bridgette Myles.
3. A discussion of a $2.18 increase in the garbage tax proposed by acting controller Sean Bird. Cauley and Myles, when it comes to it, will vote no.
4. Awarding of a contract to Azar Design, (formerly Foit-Albert and Associates) to plan the repaving of alleys using State Tourism Route Funds. Cauley will try to delay. Myles will second. The other 3 council members will approve.
5. At some point during the meeting. Ronni Alexandra will heckle from the audience. Rather than having her removed from the meeting, Ringmaster Brian Archie will engage. The gallery will shout, clap, cheer and make the people who chose to watch on the our school channel glad they stayed away.
6. There is a resolution on the agenda retaining outside counsel for the counsel. It will fail 3-2.
7. I can't predict the outcome of a resolution to create a Local Development Corporation that will be the management entity responsible for the funding and operation of the proposed Centennial Park. Cauley and Myles are solid a solid no. Councilmember Jim Perry is a yes. Archie and Councilperson David Zajac are unknowns but Zajac is the most likely no.
