Wine on Third offers the best fish fry in Falls

We visited JoAndy’s in Basom Friday night only it was at Wine on Third in Niagara Falls at Third and Ferry.

That’s how good the salt and vinegar fish and chips was last night. I didn’t expect it.

From walking in and being greeted by Brandy to heading home with a complementary piece of chocolate cake our experience was perfect.

As for that fish-and-chips, it was nearly identical to the best dish from JoAndy’s at the Tonawanda Seneca Reservation in Basom which burned a few years ago.

I thought it was lost forever. Brandy told us they stole the recipe from Emory Weber who previously served the fish fry when the bar he operated was in the space currently occupied by Mami House at the Jefferson Apartments.

A word about Brandi, the best server on Third Street. She takes such pride in her job I suggested to her she might have a future as a manager, which is something I make daily after my third cup of coffee. It’s like a publisher only not as stinky. Anyway, here response was epic.

“I wouldn’t want to be a manager because my coworkers are my friends and I would have to yell at them when they don’t do what they are supposed to. I don’t want to be that person.”

There is something to be said for that.
