DWI CRASH: Police were called to 21st and Niagara at 2:31 a.m. Wednesday for a report of an accident. A Ferry Avenue attempted to leave the scene in a 2016 Chevy Malibu. The accident was witnessed by two Niagara Falls officers on patrol. The vehicle struck was parked illegally when the accident occurred. The driver smelled of alcohol and said she came from “the bar.” Asked if she had been drinking she said 100%. Her speech was thick and slurred with many mispronounced words. She declined field sobriety tests as well as a Breath-a-Lyzer. The suspect was charged with no inspection, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while intoxicated and moving from a lane unsafely.
