GUN CHARGE: Police were called to 2009 18th St. at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to assist with a Niagara County probation check. A suspect was observed wearing a mask. The resident told police it was her brother. When the suspect removed the mask he was Id’d as the focus of the probation officer. Narcotics were found in an upstairs bathroom. Police also located a .45 caliber Glock handgun with an autosear switch rendering it capable of fully automatic firing.The weapon was stashed in a baby’s playpen The suspect at first denied ownership, as did another person, but he fessed up when both he and the women were transported to headquarters. The suspect was charged with criminal possession of an assault weapon in the 3rd degree. Additional charges may be pending.

MENACING: Police were called to 932 Ontario Ave. at 3:32 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man with a gun who had pointed it at a neighbor. Police located the suspect, and the weapon, a BB gun and charged him with 2nd Degree menacing.
