Short Take Politics:
Latinos abandon Texas MAGA
Part of Texas gerrymandering its Congressional districts to gain house seats is based on the assumption Latino’s support MAGA. That sounds good until you consider a ruby red State Senate seat turning blue in a special election because the brown people didn’t vote the way the Republicans expected. https://www.texastribune.org/2026/02/02/texas-senate-district-9-special-election-taylor-rehmet-upset-latino-suburban-backlash/
MAGA tries to rig election
“Stop the Steal” is a consistent rallying cry even if the only Presidential election demonstrably stolen was Bush v. Gore in 2000. Roger Stone stopped the recount. President George W. Bush was given the win. https://www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/steve-bannon-says-ice-will-surround-the-polls-as-trump-doubles-down-on-taking-over-elections/
Preparing for the ‘Blue Wave’
Traditionally, the 2nd mid-term of a two-term Presidency results in the party opposing the President making big gains. It appears a certainty in November.
