There is no press release, and no media information, and no press, but Birds on the Niagara is almost here. Buffalo Rising must know someone because it received details which are shared here. https://www.buffalorising.com/2026/01/2026-birds-on-niagara/ Other than that, the even appears to be mostly a secret.
The annual celebration of our Important Birding Area begins on Thursday, Feb. 12 with a Flyway Forum at Buffalo State University.
The Keynote event will be a speech on Flock and Forage at the Buffalo History Museum featuring Corina Newsome.
If you go to Goat Island during the event, there is free parking and free admission to the Cave of the Winds. Tell them at the parking lot and the cave ticket window you are participating in Birds on the Niagara.
If you are interested in more information it is here. https://bird-niagara.org/2026-festival-u-s-schedule/
The Express will publish more details if they become public.
