Monday, workers from the Niagara National Heritage Area spent the day sketching pavement art at Main, Portage and Pierce.
Tuesday was a rain day, but they were back at it Wednesday under the supervision of Tyshaun Tyson with the help of volunteer students from Abate Elementary.
WKBW’s Taylor Anthony visited the site Wednesday morning to film a segment linked below.
Work will continue Thursday and be completed Friday. The $25,000 project was funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies.
On the first day of the project, an entitled moved the traffic barrier and drove through the site, deeply concerning everyone involved.
I ranted about that entitled driver on the Express. Alas, Wednesday morning, our government responded by blocking the road with dump trucks from the DPW. Thank you Public Works Superintendent Kenny Tompkins.
Painting will be completed today and bollards will be mounted to frame the murals. The bollards will be attached to the pavement with screws placed in holes drilled into the concrete.
no story either?
Light freezing rain, with a high of 27 and low of 18 degrees. Light freezing rain during the morning, overcast in the afternoon, partly cloudy in the evening, light freezing rain overnight.
Unfortunately with the mayor we have, the prospects of true revitalization of Main Street, Pine Avenue is slim to none. There's money to do it but no transparency and accountability ...just my thoughts
The key to both Main and Pine Avenue is having objective 3rd parties involved. It quells my skepticism but just a bit.
I agree with everything Amy said
You can get a bottle of Berryman fuel system treatment for $5 and most likely can change your own cabin air filter, unless it involves taking your whole dashboard out. Kia just tried that with me and all I had to do was go I through my glove box to check it. I'm a certified YouTube mechanic now :).
