Our Sunday ended with a visit to the Old First Ward Music and Arts Festival in the afternoon. It was great to see Steam Donkeys, Wind and Wire (Maria Sebastian and Matt Pszonak) and to close out the evening with Uncle Ben’s Remedy.
While we love Uncle Ben from the day they blew us away opening for Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band and remember being there 30 years ago when Steam Donkeys happened, of late it is Maria who seems to blow us away.
Her original music is emotional, deep and easy to identify with and her voice carries and authentic tone of kindness no one could ever fake.
The festival itself seemed like it drew a light crowd, which troubled us because of the quality of the music and $5 beers. I hope it grows.
I know how he felt. No one cares about crooked DA's
Moderate rain, with a high of 82 and low of 58 degrees. Sunny during the morning, fog in the afternoon and evening, clear overnight.
Art(?) in front of the Why restaurant is absolutely the ugliest thing we have seen! It took a whole week to do it also costing my cousin who owns the Why a lot of business plus the money lost. With all the nice art on Main why do that? Just a bunch of ugly cups and nothing else that looks like anything!
Plus those white poles look like a hazard waiting to happen. Most likely will not last through the winter.
