Niagara Falls Police Blotter

ROBBERY: At about 7:50 p.m. Saturday, police were called to Niagara Street 7/11 for a report of an assault that would later be changed to a robbery. The suspect placed items valued at about $29 in a bag and tried to leave without paying. When the clerk attempted to intervene, the suspect hit him over the head with a bag causing a laceration and a hand wound. Police located the suspect walking on 7th Street and took him into custody. The suspect was hostile and had a large wound on his arm. He was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial but refused treatment by staff because of being out of control. The suspect was charged with assault, larceny and robbery.

CASINO DISPUTE: At 3 a.m. Sunday, a man gambling at the casino asked a fellow patron to cash in chips for him. A dispute ensued after the person cashing in chips expected more from the patron. It escalated into a fight outside which resulted in a woman from Rochester being charged with harassment and grand larceny.

SHOPLIFTING: Police were called to Target at 2:56 p.m. Sunday for a report of a shoplifter. A Beckwith Avenue resident allegedly left the store without paying for several items.
