Our administration has put together a committee to focus on redevelopment of the Main Street corridor. In the coming weeks we will be talking about some developments that are going to we believe kickstart development along Main Street. There will be more on that as we finalize some of the projects. There is a greenlight on several projects so there will be more on that when we are able disclose.

We are continuing completing the streetlighting project. A lot of that has to do with supplies, either the lighting or the poles or the lights themselves. They are converting light poles. More of that will go on through the main portion of this month.

We anticipate through the next few days there is going to be some pretty decent weather so please be careful while you are out there.

We still see scooters and bicycles, electric and otherwise, all on the streets. Again I want to bring it to everyone’s attention that all of us, anyone on the road pay special care for the rules of the road and provide the opportunity for everyone to use them safely. One of the things we are working on with our independent living community is to get the motorized chair that some of our disabled community members use, to get them off the street. It is safer for them as well as vehicles that are operating on the road.

Toward the end of the month again we will be celebrating Oktoberfest down on Old Falls Street. I think it is going to be the final weekend in September

Fall colors are coming in along the gorge. Get some beautiful pictures. We really are lucky in this area to have the panorama of fall. Please, get yourself some exercise, pull away from the smart phone, the phone, the tablet, whatever it is that takes up all that time. Get outside and enjoy some fresh air and I look forward to talking to you again next week.
