DWI: An officer parked at Wendy’s Niagara Falls Boulevard observed a vehicle traveling 53 mph in a 40 mph zone at about 2:18 a.m. Saturday and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, with slow and slurred speech, admitted her license was suspended for a DWI conviction. She repeatedly said she had nothing to drink “just a little bit” and asked the officer if he could just let her go. She failed field sobriety tests and blew a 0.13% BAC. Charges included speeding, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle, DWI, operating a vehicle with more than .08% of 1% BAC and aggravated unlicensed operation under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
DRUNK AT TOPS: An apparently intoxicated man brandishing a Patron bottle made threats to a security guard at Portage Road Tops including saying he was going to shoot up the place before stumbling off at about 5 p.m. Saturday. Police found him near the bus station and charged him with trespassing and menacing.
PHONE DISPUTE: A Niagara Falls Boulevard resident was charged with grand larceny after he allegedly took a woman’s phone following a dispute at about 6 p.m. Sunday.
SQUATTERS: Police were called to investigate people occupying a condemned house at 2007 Forest Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Police entered the home and found evidence of two people living there with a hot plate plugged in an bags of clothing. The man and woman who appeared to have been sleeping on the floor were charged with 2nd and 3rd degree criminal trespass.
WARRANT: Police were called to Dollar Tree on Niagara Falls Boulevard at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a shoplifter. The suspect has left but was located on Connecting Boulevard. He was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant and a charge of criminal trespass.
