SHOPLIFTING: Police were called to Ollie’s at about 11:33 a.m. Monday for a report of a shoplifter. Police located the suspect on Girard Avenue and transported him back to the store with $112.85 in goods for which he did not pay. The Wheatfield Street, North Tonawanda resident, 47, was charged with petit larceny.
TRAFFIC STOP: A 32-year-old Clarence man was charged with no license, no insurance, failure to notify of an address change and suspended registration following a Niagara Falls Boulevard traffic stop at about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday after a plate reader alerted police.
WARRANT EXECUTION: A two-officer car was operating near the Coastal Station on 19th Street at about 12:19 p.m. Wednesday when they observed a vehicle driving erratically and executed a traffic stop. The passenger, a 40 year old 22nd Street woman, was arrested on a warrant out of Clarence
SUBJECT WITH A GUN: Police were called to KFC on Niagara Falls Boulevard for a report of a person with a gun at about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday. An alleged victim claimed she had been threatened with a gun. The 32-year old suspect nervously walked away from the scene and returned a minute later telling police she was looking for a light for her cigarette and displaying a filter. Officers detained her. State Parks Police responded with “Arno” the K9. Arno found guns between a Pepsi machine and fence outside a nearby motel. Cameras at Dunkin showed a suspect matching the description of the detained person stashing the weapons. The suspect was charged with a felony, criminal possession of a firearm.
BURGLARY INTERRUPTED: Police were called to a residence in the 1100 block of 13th Street at about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an unknown disturbance. A caller reported a man had broken into the residence and was in possession of a firearm. Upon arrival, police observed a black male with a hoodie on standing in the doorway. Ordered to stop, he fled inside and hid. Police established a perimeter and tried to communicate through a squad car PA. Several officers entered the residence and found the suspect hiding on the second floor. The suspect, 42, resides in the 3000 block of 9th Street. He was charged with felony burglary and criminal mischief and misdemeanor menacing.
TRAFFIC STOP: Police on patrol on Walnut Street near 27th Street at about 12:11 p.m. Thursday was alerted by a license plate reader to a passing car with suspended plates. The 44-year old Belden Place resident driving was charged with unlicensed operation, no inspection, illegally tinted windows, no signals/flashers, improper plates, dirty/covered plate, driving an unregistered vehicle and failure to notify of an address change. The driver had 19 suspensions and 16 scoffs on 6 dates.
STOLEN BIKE: Police were called to Walmart at about 4 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspected shoplifter. The man, a 29-year-old Walmore Road resident pumped a mountain bike’s tires full of air and road out through the automotive department. An officer in an unmarked car gave chase and confronted the suspect who tried to escape first by pedaling away and then running. He was taken into custody and charged with petit larceny, burglary and resisting arrest.
TRAFFIC STOP: Police on patrol on Hyde Park Boulevard at about 4:54 p.m. Thursday observed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker and no front plate and executed a traffic stop. The drive, a 49-year-old Ashland Avenue man was charged with no registration, no inspection, operating with a single plate, improper plates and no insurance.
